WE ARE CUSTODIANS OF THE PLANET AND HAVE A DUTY TO CARE FOR IT. For the past 18 years I've had the privilege of watching and caring for the resident Swans on our local river estuary. I have been charmed and fascinated by their parental skills and beauty in the water, they are Simply Superb Swans. Annual Membership to the River Nairn Swans and Waterfowl Trust is £20 for a family, can be paid securely through the PayPal Donate button below. Thank you.

Parting Of The Ways
The devotion and care shown to the cygnets since they hatched is now drawing to a close.
Penny and Popeye have given 100% to their offspring for the past 7 months, and with the approaching new year their babies must now prepare to leave home and fend for themselves. Penny and Popeye prepare them gently by distancing themselves gradually in the river, at the same time observing how ready they are to be banished from the territorial home waters.
The close escort of the cygnets is over, and soon they will encourage them to stay away and leave the area for good.
Penny is the prime mover, and makes all the decisions regarding all of their future's, Popeye follows her lead in all family matters. The sequence of shots shows this process during the last few days.
