WE ARE CUSTODIANS OF THE PLANET AND HAVE A DUTY TO CARE FOR IT. For the past 18 years I've had the privilege of watching and caring for the resident Swans on our local river estuary. I have been charmed and fascinated by their parental skills and beauty in the water, they are Simply Superb Swans. Annual Membership to the River Nairn Swans and Waterfowl Trust is £20 for a family, can be paid securely through the PayPal Donate button below. Thank you.

Nine Month Cygnets & Goldeneye
Cygnets are now 9 months old and looking really good, this is the longest the parents have ever kept them around.
The previous two seasons they have chased off their brood by the 9th January, the unusual winter weather might have extended this years stay. Popeye and Penny are at least 13 years old, so perhaps their maturity also has a bearing on their behaviour now.
Another trust member also tells me that the Goldeneye males have now arrived in the river, and were putting on a mating display by throwing their heads back.
Perhaps real winter is about to begin !
