WE ARE CUSTODIANS OF THE PLANET AND HAVE A DUTY TO CARE FOR IT. For the past 18 years I've had the privilege of watching and caring for the resident Swans on our local river estuary. I have been charmed and fascinated by their parental skills and beauty in the water, they are Simply Superb Swans. Annual Membership to the River Nairn Swans and Waterfowl Trust is £20 for a family, can be paid securely through the PayPal Donate button below. Thank you.

Vera and Bluey
Yet another pigeon struck down by the Paramyxovirus at the Merryton bridge yesterday. It's a bonnie rock dove, light blue grey and showing all the signs and unable to control it's movements. It was best to remove it from that flock and give it a chance of survival. It is now safely at home with Vera the other pigeon with the same condition. This disease must be terrifying for the birds, with loss of coordination and control - vital to their survival. Hope I don't find any more, otherwise I'll run out of suitable boxes !
Joe--you are nothing short of being a Saint for all your good work to all birds and animals--God bless you.
ReplyDeleteThank you but I wouldn't go that far ! Humans have our health service and are better placed to do something about animal welfare. We do have a duty to care for other species besides our own.
