WE ARE CUSTODIANS OF THE PLANET AND HAVE A DUTY TO CARE FOR IT. For the past 18 years I've had the privilege of watching and caring for the resident Swans on our local river estuary. I have been charmed and fascinated by their parental skills and beauty in the water, they are Simply Superb Swans. Annual Membership to the River Nairn Swans and Waterfowl Trust is £20 for a family, can be paid securely through the PayPal Donate button below. Thank you.

New Pair
A young pair of Swans have now entered the scene arriving in the river today. Yesterday Penny flew in pursued by another male. There is no sign of her today.
This is now the big danger, with Duke being in the rescue centre, Penny will have to defend the territory herself. She may be forced into giving the territory up, or finding another mate and bringing him back to the river.
This is the prime time of year when young pairs are looking for nesting sites, any that are undefended will be claimed pretty quick.
I still have no word when Duke is likely to be back, looks like he might have a battle on his return !
