WE ARE CUSTODIANS OF THE PLANET AND HAVE A DUTY TO CARE FOR IT. For the past 18 years I've had the privilege of watching and caring for the resident Swans on our local river estuary. I have been charmed and fascinated by their parental skills and beauty in the water, they are Simply Superb Swans. Vets Update On Duke
The Scottish SPCA Wildlife rescue Centre gave me an update on Duke's condition this morning. Blood has been taken for analysis, and they are treating him for bacterial enteritis with antibiotics. He also appears to have a Parasitic attack in his gizzard. He still refuses to eat by himself, so is being tube fed. His plumage is described as excellent, and body condition good. He will continue antibiotic treatment until next Tuesday and I should get further updates later.
Penny is now missing and calling for him, lets hope he pulls through and we get him back soon.
We watched Penny being fed from the bridge last Saturday and she seems very lonely. Hope Duke pulls through and gets back with her very soon.
ReplyDeleteWell Sonia, I hope to get some more news on his condition by tomorrow.
ReplyDeleteHe is in good condition so should be able to fight any infection.
