Following on the previous post, I decided to try and integrate the rescued lost duckling into Disco's brood of six last night. I waited until disco had taken her 6 into the coop for the night, and put the rescued duckling through the coop hatch.
Disco made a couple of sounds and the little one ran over and underneath her new Mum !
I was ecstatic, it could not have been a better result and the duckling was accepted by all.
Although they are about the same age, disco's ducklings have been better fed, so almost twice the size.
Pics show the little one fully integrated with Disco and brood.
They will all be raised and released together.
