WE ARE CUSTODIANS OF THE PLANET AND HAVE A DUTY TO CARE FOR IT. For the past 18 years I've had the privilege of watching and caring for the resident Swans on our local river estuary. I have been charmed and fascinated by their parental skills and beauty in the water, they are Simply Superb Swans. Annual Membership to the River Nairn Swans and Waterfowl Trust is £20 for a family, can be paid securely through the PayPal Donate button below. Thank you.

Reformed Duke ?
With observations today on Penny and Duke, I detect a marked change in the relationship between them. Duke seems to be much more attentive to Penny than he was previously. It makes me think that the 2 month relationship that Penny just had with Slim has shook up Duke to the point where he no longer takes Penny for granted. He is sticking a lot closer to her like Popeye used to, always in touch !
Observe the above photos and you will see his wings in a semi raised position, this is indicative of guarding and being ready for action, even though there was no other swans around. Did he see off Slim ?
It will be very interesting to see how this year will pan out when others arrive to challenge him.
