New Season Ducklings

The first ducklings of the season are now hatching on the lower river section. As of today we have 2 broods totalling 21 ducklings.

Weather could be better in so far as the wind is concerned, still a cold northerly blowing up river. We can only hope that some of them survive - short movie clip of the latest brood.

The injured duck with wing dislocation had the bandage removed, but sadly will not be able to fly again.

She will now have to spend her life in rehab as a guest of the Trust. She appears pretty content and has the company of a pigeon with a broken wing, and a small drake to keep her happy.
