WE ARE CUSTODIANS OF THE PLANET AND HAVE A DUTY TO CARE FOR IT. For the past 18 years I've had the privilege of watching and caring for the resident Swans on our local river estuary. After witnessing Penny and Popeye and the young ones down at the Harbour today, I typed in "swans and cygnets Nairn" and found this blog!
My husband and I noticed them by chance. Penny was gently herding the cygnets into the water whilst Popeye watched from the shore. It was a lovely sight. I've seen both adult swans nesting on the river and hoped for the best. We certainly haven't been disappointed!
Your blog is very informative and I admire your persistance in watching the ducks and swans nesting and thriving, especially given the weather recently!
Hi Linda, Glad you enjoyed the action down at the Harbour, they are a joy to watch especially the first few weeks when Penny regularly carries them on her back. Hopefully the weather is changing for the better at last..it's been a relentless northerly wind for weeks and not at all helpful to man nor beast !
Glad you like my blog too.
