WE ARE CUSTODIANS OF THE PLANET AND HAVE A DUTY TO CARE FOR IT. For the past 18 years I've had the privilege of watching and caring for the resident Swans on our local river estuary. Great sight to see the young Mergansers on the river, maybe they were nesting up river, Sad to here about Blondie's ducklings wonder if a the Mink got to them.
I'm pretty sure it was a pair of Crows working together by the island strip at the road bridge.
I watched them in action yesterday trying to panic a mother duck and her one remaining duckling by jumping up at her, and trying to make the little one fall from the island strip where the other crow was waiting to grab it.
Blondie must have got distracted or pounced on by some drakes, allowing the crows to exploit the ducklings.
