Sue is still flightless, but should be able to fly at the end of the month with her new feathers growing out rapidly.
The Cygnets too are growing fast, and meanwhile paddling around exercising their wings and feet. Perfectly adapted for powering through water, and joints that allow for rapid rotation.
People often think they have injured legs when resting them on their backs. Two Short video clips below.
It's Curtains for the pigeon.......as well as the fireplace and bookcase !
The pigeon with the broken leg is continuing to improve and now able to put it's weight on it. Looks like it will be able to join it's friends in a few days time.
Meanwhile the cygnets wings are developing well and should be capable of flying lessons in a few weeks time.
The rescued ducklings are nearly 4 weeks old and enjoying life, (short video below ).
The cygnets wings are getting stronger and less floppy, they should be able to start serious flight training by the end of the month. Penny's new wing feathers were given the full lift off yesterday when she flew about 100 metres just above the river. The mystery of where the 4 new ducks came from was solved, when I learned that the owner was a local man. I reckon they are bonnie wee bantam call ducks that come in various colours.
