Love

Once again Popeye and Penny reinforced the bonds of love as a lesson to their offspring.

With grunts and squeaks, head tilting, wing raising, and staring into each others eyes.

All of this being noticed and acknowledged by the cygnets.

The cygnets now becoming aware of their own gender, are being taught the proper Swan etiquette by their experienced parents.

It was a joy to watch, and the strong autumn Sunshine acted like a spotlight on Popeye and Penny.

Cygnets Love Lessons

The cygnets are now 3 months old, and incredibly almost the size of their parents ! 

Today they had a love lesson from Mum and Dad which always seems to start around the 3 month mark every year. Popeye asserts his dominance giving a series of deep grunts which reverberate all around and through the water, and the cygnets respond with much head nodding and cheeping.

Swan Love Lessons

The Cygnets have now entered adolescence and showing all the signs of restless teenagers. Earlier today the parents decided it was time to show them who was the boss of the family, and pulled them together for a love display. I just managed to get the camera rolling to catch the love heart shape, and the cob giving the powerful male grunt that only he can do. The cygnets joined in joyous cheeping, at what was basically a family love in - great to watch. Turn up your sound and enjoy - the not so Mute Swan family !
