Still Alive

UPDATE: Sadly the fledgling died overnight.

The young wood pigeon is still alive, eating and drinking signs are positive. I am however still worried about the severity of the wounds. The Crow bites above the right leg are very deep and may have damaged the leg muscle or nerves. It is reluctant to use the right leg but this may get better in time.

I consulted a Vet about administering antibiotics but was advised to wait and see. The anti inflammatory and external cream seem to be working and it is eating and drinking on it's own, as the pic shows.

On my normal visit to the riverside tonight, The parent bird came over and had some hand feeding as usual.

Wood pigeons are one of my favourite wild birds, as they are so placid and gentle
